Privacy Policy
Effective July 31, 2026.
The short version
This website collects as little as possible. If you send a note through the contact form, we get your name, your email, your phone number if you choose to add it, and what you wrote. We use it to reply to you and to keep track of who has reached out. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
What we collect
Contact form. Your name, email address, your message, and your phone number if you choose to give one — only when you send the form. We also record the date and time you sent it.
Basic technical logs. Our website host keeps standard server logs (like IP address and browser type) to keep the site fast and secure. We don't use advertising trackers, and this site currently runs no analytics. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
How we use it
To reply to you and, if you ask for one, to schedule your free consultation. We also keep a record of enquiries so Patti can see who has contacted her and make sure nobody is missed.
Who else handles it. Patti works with Buildwise Media, who built and look after this website. When you send the form, your message travels through their systems and is stored there, and a copy is emailed directly to Patti through an email delivery service. Buildwise Media does not receive an emailed copy of your message. Nobody outside that group sees it, and it is never used for advertising.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't add you to marketing email lists.
A note about therapy and this website
A message through this website is not therapy, and sending one does not make you a client. Please don't include detailed health information in the form — save that for a private conversation. Once you become a client, what you share in session is protected by the confidentiality rules that apply to all licensed therapists in South Carolina, with narrow safety-related exceptions your therapist explains before you begin.
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. In an emergency, call 911.
How long we keep it
Contact-form messages are kept so Patti can respond and follow up, and so there is a record of who reached out. A copy sits in her email and a copy is stored in the systems described above. We don't delete them on a fixed schedule.
If you'd like your message removed, ask us — see "Your choices" below. We will delete the copies we control and tell you when that's done. One honest caveat: our email provider keeps its own delivery records for a short period, and routine encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule, so a copy can persist briefly in places nobody can reach into and pick from. We can't promise those are gone the moment you ask, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Your choices
You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and we'll take care of it.
Children
This website is not directed to children, and the practice sees adults only.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
